Poseidon’s Children Is “Indiana Jones Meets Jaws!”

Azure Dwarf’s Horde of SciFi & Fantasy has just posted a fantastic review of my new novel, Poseidon’s Children!  Here’s an excerpt:

“5 out of 5 stars!  Mr. West crafted both a thought provoking story and a tense, action packed runaway.  Interesting characters abound in this book. You have archeologists, artists, authors, gangsters, psychopaths, the Coast Guard and shape changers.  West does a good job crafting each player and making them believable. The story is colorful, entertaining and well plotted.  There is something for every reader and the story provides fodder for every imagination.   I really enjoyed this book.  I highly recommend.”

Poseidon’s Children Is “Compelling” and “Definitely Worth the Read!”

Books: The Cheapest Vacation You Can Buy just posted a nice review of my new novel, Poseidon’s Children.   Here’s an excerpt:

“Michael West delivers a compelling tale of sea monsters and horror as this tale of Poseidon’s Children unfolds.  With its vast cast of characters and multiple viewpoints, West has created a story that flows nicely, splicing together horror, romance, intrigue, and betrayal.  The story is easy to follow and keeps readers interest, especially as the pieces of the puzzle begin to fit together.  Characters that previously did not seem to connect with others suddenly become key players and their plights are expanded upon as Poseidon’s children, forced to hide their true nature among humans, decide to fight back. I really enjoyed the fantasy aspect of this story…the idea of Atlantis has always intrigued me, and I loved that this story was built around that ancient city, as well as evoking mythology and the gods as well.  It’s very well written…definitely worth the read. “

Cinema of Shadows “Startled Me into Dropping the Book!”

Darlene’s Book Nook just posted a wonderful review of my last Harmony, Indiana novel, Cinema of Shadows.  Here’s an excerpt:

“4 stars! Cinema of Shadows is delightfully creepy, and West has a way of writing that makes the hair stand up at the back of your neck. At a particularly eerie part in the story, I flipped the page and was faced with a ghastly illustration (courtesy of Matthew Perry) that startled me into dropping the book! Some horror books are pretty gruesome and gory, but this book falls more into the ‘scary’ category. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a book that gives you the creeps while reading!”

Fantasy Book Review Rates Cinema a “9.2 out of 10!”

Fantasy Book Review has just posted a great write-up on my novel Cinema of Shadows.  Here’s a bit of what they had to say…

“9.2/10!  West is an extremely accomplished horror author…These are all believable characters who all suffer with their own fears and neuroses making the tension and suspense all the more palpable…The Woodfield is a place with almost a century of tragedies, accidents, fires, murders and suicides… the perfect place for a haunting. “
