Synopsis of Straightjacket Memories:

There is a fine line between love and madness, between insanity and pure evil.

This is Michael West at his terrifying best! From heart-stopping horror to the strangest of fantasies — these are tales from the darkest regions of his twisted imagination! All the usual tropes are here — vampires and shapeshifters, ghosts and witches, gods and monsters, mummies and zombies — but none of them are exactly what you would expect…

A dream vacation takes a nightmarish turn when a couple finds they did not come home alone…

A man agrees to a meeting with his estranged wife and learns the horrible, obscene truth of the old saying: “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned…”

An American platoon, cut off from the outside world, discovers an unbelievable enemy they were never trained to fight…

And a man struggling with depression and grief receives text messages from beyond the grave, messages that push him to the edge of sanity…and beyond…

Ten more reasons to say your prayers.

Ten more reasons to check beneath your bed.

Ten more reasons why you may never want to close your eyes again.

Cinema of Shadows Becomes #1 Best Seller!

Cinema of Shadows, a Harmony, Indiana novel, has become Michael West’s first #1 Best Seller, topping the charts in Horror/Occult fiction!

Cinema welcomes readers to the Woodfield Movie Palace.

The night the Titanic sank, it opened for business…and its builder died
in his chair.   In the 1950s, there was a fire; a balcony full of people
burned to death.   And years later, when it became the scene of one of
Harmony, Indiana’s most notorious murders, it closed for good.  Abandoned,
sealed, locked up tight…until now.

Tonight, Professor Geoffrey Burke and his Parapsychology
students have come to the Woodfield in search of evidence, hoping to find
irrefutable proof of a haunting.  Instead, they will discover that, in this
theater, the terrors are not confined to the screen.

Spook House Haunts #1 Spot on Bestseller List!

Spook House Kobo Bestseller

Bestselling author Michael West has another hit on his hands.  His third Harmony, Indiana novel for Seventh Star PressSpook House, just became a #1 bestseller, topping the Horror charts for Kobo.  A global leader in eReading, Kobo delivers the best digital reading experience to millions of users in 190 countries, offering one of the world’s largest catalogs with millions of titles.

In Spook House, there are some places in this world that go far beyond any normal definition of “haunted.”  These places are so evil, so diabolical, that they become gateways to Hell itself.  The Fuller Farm is one such place.

It is said that old man Fuller conducted unspeakable acts, blood rituals and human sacrifices, all in an attempt to gain the ultimate knowledge, the ultimate power.  And then, he was killed–horribly murdered on his own lands, leaving the house to stand as a vacant monument to his wickedness.  But once a door is opened, it can never really be closed.

Now, the stars are right.   The gateway is ready to once more unleash unspeakable horror upon the town of Harmony, Indiana.   And this will be one Halloween that they will never forget!

The Monster Librarian Recommends “Vampires!”

The Monster Librarian has posted a wonderful new review of my first anthology as editor, Vampires Don’t Sparkle!  Here’s a bit of what they had to say:

“From fun to splattery, and with a smattering of regional specialties, Michael West has assembled a collection of stories designed to leave prissy, playboy bloodsuckers in their condos and compounds. In his selections, monsters run the streets again. Standout stories include Joel A. Sutherland’s “Skraeling”, “Dreams of Winter” by Bob Freeman, and Jerry Gordon’s “Vampire Nation”, though with so much great fiction inside it’s hard to pick out just a few. Definitely recommended for public and private horror collections.”

Hades’ Disciples Catches Bitten by Books “Completely Off Guard!”

Bitten by Books newLogo

Bitten by Books just posted a new 4-star review of my second Legacy of the Gods novel, Hades’ Disciples. Here’s a bit of what they had to say:

“4-stars! This was the second installment of the series and, although Hades’ Disciples could stand on its own, I really appreciated the continuity and getting reacquainted with several of my favorite characters from the last book. I was, once again, impressed by the illustrations and the imagination that went into building these characters. This time the “creatures” felt more substantial and more threatening at the same time. I was particularly intrigued by the Dragon Lady Attorney that was introduced in this one…The ending caught me completely off guard, but now, of course, I need the third installment.

Bitten by Books Takes a Bite Out of Poseidon’s Children!

Bitten by Books newLogo

Bitten by Books just posted a new 4-star review of my first Legacy of the Gods novel,Poseidon’s Children.  Here’s a bit of what they had to say:

“4-stars! I love books that take place in and around the water so I was excited when I realized that Poseidon’s Children would involve Atlantis…I did enjoy the theories offered, and the illustrations really jumped off the page. It is also interesting that this tale is told from the viewpoint of several characters… There are some pretty gruesome moments and the bad guys are truly revolting. I was impressed with the imagination and amount of detail that went into bringing these creatures to life. The journey from character to character at the end gave me more than one opportunity to say, ‘I did not see that coming.’”
